NikoSarcevic DCFCutting This is my personal take: Applying for postdocs in a group, they'll want someone who is a good fit - and best way for them to find that our is if they hear you speak and discuss science. No need for lots of papers. 1/2

NikoSarcevic DCFCutting For external funding, many bodies follow principles of DORAssessment, often taken very seriously (strict admonitions not to mention bibliometrics in reviews). In any case one 100-page paper can be more interesting than several 4-page papers, even in the same subfield. 2/2

NikoSarcevic DCFCutting DORAssessment Oh, and having the right skills is invaluable. For me to justify hiring somebody with my funding that typically means early universe simulations, or cosmological data analysis, or both. 3/2
