NikoSarcevic DCFCutting I've spent a lot of time over the past few weeks reviewing fellowship applications. Our panel were looking for people who worked on interesting things and signs of independence; number of papers never really entered into it. Also having bibliometrics in postdoc CVs is weird imo.

NikoSarcevic DCFCutting Academia in general, graduate study in particular, and especially graduate study during a pandemic is a situated experience. It's hard to compare like for like. Counting papers, citations etc. lends a sense of objectivity to something which is actually subjective.
