      DCHooper91 Not quite downtown: I'd consider getting the metro to Herttoniemi, lunch in Cafe Verso, head down to the nature reserve around Vanhakaupunginselkä inlet. Then heading south you can visit Kivinokka, which has pretty little cottages and places to swim. Or north, to the arboretum.

    DCHooper91 Walking among Kivinokka's cottages indirectly tells you something about the urbanisation of the working classes in Finland & how Finns approach their holidays. kivinokka.fi/visitkivinokkainenglish/ It's also very peaceful.
