I had a couple of published papers and about ten citations at the end of my PhD. Besides the bias against minoritised groups such reductive numbers reinforce, one (purely selfish) reason I work to loosen the grip metrics have on academia is that they really don't mean anything. jonsmieja/1302034715415805956
