    When I wrote this I was kind of thinking about archaeological monuments. For example roundhouses from the Scottish Iron Age (like brochs: journals.socantscot.org/index.php/psas/article/view/9083) have broad distribution of internal areas; how much of that is due to the right 'size' being passed by word of mouth?
