@_Astro_Nerd_ Just to give yet one more possibility: you can combine Markdown with LaTeX equations. This combination eases the learning curve (no need to learn all of the annoying bits of LaTeX, just the math mode stuff) and still makes lovely documents. Plus Markdown is handy.
