      SaturnSheila CA_AstroComm Dark energy constitutes most of the energy of the universe. However it’s probably in the form of a “cosmological constant”, basically a constant term in the equations that govern the expansion of the universe that happens to push everything further apart.

    SaturnSheila CA_AstroComm When we make observations that tell us about what makes up the universe, it gets counted as energy. But it’s not directly comparable to the energy (including the mass-energy through E=mc^2) of the everyday matter around us.
