    1. Every modern browser is capable of video, microphone and screen sharing. It's intuitive and simple. There are lots of companies out there who can make videoconferencing happen for you without installing a shady app on your computer or phone. You really, really don't need Zoom.

    And if you have an institutional agreement with Zoom, so that your room URLs begin organisation․zoom․us/j/…, that doesn't mean your meetings are self-hosted or anything. In all three such meetings whose traffic I observed today, all the data still went to a Zoom data centre.
