      1. Ok! Books in HULib's stacks that we would have had at the Kumpula-LGBT+ popup. My first selection is Whipping Girl by Julia Serano (helka.finna.fi/Record/helka.2423676; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whipping_Girl). Serano, a biologist, discusses how trans women are portrayed in academia, medicine & the media. davidjamesweir/1242847323408998400

Today was busier than expected, but here's another book. Next up, Alan Turing: The Enigma (helka.finna.fi/Record/helka.1123051; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Turing:_The_Enigma). This biography was the inspiration for film The Imitation Game. Turing also features on the new English £50 note: bankofengland.co.uk/news/2019/july/50-pound-banknote-character-announcement

One more, today. Ben Barres was a pioneering transgender neurobiologist, becoming chair of Stanford's Neurobiology Department (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Barres). We have his autobiography as an e-book (helka.finna.fi/Record/helka.3309073). Here's Nature's review: nature.com/articles/d41586-018-07109-2
